Notes: This course investigates the fundamental ideas and debates in the pursuit of historical knowledge. Methodologies and philosophies of historical investigation will be discussed with the integral premise that history is ultimately interpretive and made authoritative through contingent and arduously contested individual and collective intellectual approaches. What is history and how and why is it constructed? Restricted to Honours students and open to other qualified senior students with the permission of the Department. |
