John Ferris to write first authorized history of the Government Communications Headquarters for centenary

Dr. John Ferris, one of the world's leading experts on signals intelligence and security, has been commissioned to write an authorized history of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) to celebrate its centenary in 2019.

If you are not familiar with it, the GCHQ is the UK government's signals intelligence organization, most famous, perhaps for its role in breaking the Enigma code in World War II.

The authorized history will cover the GCHQ's origins in World War One, through Bletchley Park and the Cold War, to the presen day.

Here is the link with the announcement of the project: GCHQ to celebrate centenary in 2019 | GCHQ Site

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Ferris for this great honour.
