Flourishing Peer Support: History & Homies

Are you interested in history? Drop-in and hang out with the SU Wellness Centre’s Flourishing peer support team every Thursday. Make connections with other students who are interested in history. Learn strategies for self-care. Enjoy free snacks and do activities with our student volunteers. Find us Thursdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. in SS 639.

What is Flourishing?

Based on the research of Dr. Corey Keyes, the SU Wellness Centre has adopted the flourishing model of positive mental health. Keyes identified five factors to help you flourish; playing, learning, interacting, connecting and helping. To engage in these factors on a regular basis can build positive mental health, despite the presence or absence of mental illness. To flourish is to feel good about a life in which you are functioning well.

The Department of History was selected as one of two student groups to pilot the Flourishing peer support program. Learn more here.
