Notes: All 500-level Fall term and Winter term History courses are restricted to History majors, ANME majors, and History graduate students until August 14. This seminar focuses on the important documents that have influenced the relationship between Europeans, EuroCanadians, and Canada¿s indigenous peoples over the last 600 years. Records to be studied will include papal bulls, royal proclamations, maps, treaties, legislation and related correspondence. Students will analyse and present these documents in their social, political, and economic contexts, and determine their relevance to contemporary Native issues in Canada |
