MA Student, Jessica Tannenbaum, awarded the Herbert-Lewin-Preis in Berlin, Germany

MA-student in History and Philosophy of Science, Jessica Tannenbaum (MD) was awarded the Herbert-Lewin-Preis in Berlin, Germany, on November 22nd 2017. This prize is issued by the German Physicians' Association, the German Dentists' Association, the Federal Ministry of Health, the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists. It is awarded for a scholarly work that explores the role of physicians during the National socialist regime. Ms. Tannenbaum was awarded the first prize for her medical dissertation on SS-physicians in concentration camp Flossenbürg. The second prize was given out to Ulrike Eisenberg (MD), Harmut Collman (MD), and Daniel Dubinski (MD) who have traced eleven biographies of German neuroscientists who were forced into migration by the Nazi regime
