History Graduate Students' Union
Hi Folks,
This list is repetitive in places and certainly not complete. It’s meant to help History Department members during this period when our libraries are closed and we’re largely confined to home. If you have additions, please let us know (spangler@ucalgary.ca or hgsu@ucalgary.ca).
Academic Resources
1. U of Calgary Library guide to online resources (revised Mar 24): https://library.ucalgary.ca/c.php?g=715294
2. Internet Archive: https://archive.org . Provides a very eclectic mix of primary sources, older secondary sources, and potential entertainment (audiobooks, etc.).
3. JSTOR: through library website. Making 20,000 books, previously not accessible with our subscription, available, through June.
4. Project Gutenberg: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page .
5. Cambridge University Press Textbook Access: https://www.cambridge.org/core/what-we-publish/textbooks . Currently down, but may return. Please use responsibly.
6. Project Muse Additional Content: https://hub.jhu.edu/2020/03/19/jhu-press-free-access-project-muse/ . For example, the catalogue of Johns Hopkins U. Press is made freely available.
7. Google Docs Lists of Academic Resources available (a lot of repetition here, but some variety, which might guide us to things we need):
