Outbreak of War in the Pacific: 70 Years Later
The Third Annual New Perspectives on the World Wars Symposium
December 7, 2011 is the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attacks on on the U.S. and British Empire. To mark this important date, the the History Graduate Students' Union are pleased to host talks by historians Dr. John Ferris of the University of Calgary, and Dr. Christopher Bell of Dalhousie University.
Professor John Ferris, a noted historian of British intelligence and strategy will speak about his current research on Japanese and American intelligence in the lead up to Pearl Harbor. Dr. Christopher Bell of Dalhousie University will then discuss British Pacific Strategy and where the Canadians stationed at Hong Kong fit into it.
A New York steak dinner will be served.
